CD cover of The Chumps Without a Net

Improvisational comedy recorded live by The Chumps at the Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto.

A Short History of The Chumps

The Chumps originated as a dynamic 32 piece accordion trio but through a combination of attrition and bad advice from a famous dermatologist, were eventually reduced to seven members. Due to their diversity of philosophical beliefs, particularly the divergence of the group into two camps: Hegelianism and Spinozism, they eventually went their own ways. At the pinnacle of their time together, they ran a successful theatre in downtown Toronto, had a weekly radio show on CBC, and in their own minds, starred in a successful sitcom on national television. It is reported that at their height when stacked together, they were almost 40 feet tall and earned well into 3 figures.

Cd cover of Dave Healey and Friends

A potpourri of music and sketches with lots of great friends including Jeff Rosenthal, Gary Pearson, Gord Oxley, Kerry Griffin, Jan Caruana, Marcel St. Pierre and Jane Luk. In truth this recording would not have been possible without the help of these extremely talented people.

What did they say about “Dave Healey and Friends”?

“Dave Healey is one of the clever improvisers over at Bad Dog Theatre, and many of the sketches on this disc displays the same intelligence that defines his best work there. It’s satire at its finest.”- Now Magazine

“The highlight of a new album featuring members of local sketch/improv troupe…” The Anti-Hit List, Toronto Star. “Delivered with razor-sharp timing…” Now Magazine. Thanks to Gary Pearson for helping me out with this sketch.
